Open Water Swimming – Volunteering - Get involved!
Do you fancy getting involved in Open Water but don’t know where to start? Come along to the East District OW Championships, watch some of the racing AND learn about all the various volunteer roles available.
We’ll be holding a short introduction for interested volunteers at Lochore Meadows on Sunday 4th June 2023, lasting about 15 minutes, before the races start. We’ll give you information on the many roles available. You’ll have the chance to practice using our stopwatches if you wish and may even have the chance to time some of the swimmers on an informal basis. It’s really not complicated but even if you got it wrong during this practice, it wouldn’t matter. As well as that, there are lots of other volunteer roles that don’t involve becoming a technical official but still offer the chance to be part of the good-natured friendly team that runs these events.
There’s no need to register in advance and you don’t need to be from East District. Just turn up at registration time for the OW Championships at Lochore.
